Quaking Soul Update

Ugh! Change

I’m a creature of habit…yet this year is determined to get me out of my comfort zone.

The most recent push for change has to do with covid, of course. Not that the change is solely due to covid, it just happens to be the last push to do something I’ve been mulling over for a while. I’m going to attempt a personal online store for my books. Covid pushed this decision because book signings, which are how I sell the majority of books, are not a thing right now and the margins on selling a book personally are significantly better than through a third party like Amazon.

This may go horribly awry but I’m hoping to combine my blog, website, and store all into one site. However, to do this, I have to mess with the blog, which I haven’t done in the 8 years I’ve been blogging.

Ugh, change. But I’m taking a note from a blogging friend of mine at the Lily Cafe. Kat’s willing to change her design whenever it strikes her that things need updating.

So if things seems wonky here or on my website for the next little while, don’t mind the dust. I might be breaking down a wall or two. =)

Blessings,

Jennifer

P.S. As a quick aside, the Quaking Soul proof copy just shipped. I’ll hopefully see it within the next week.

  1. Good luck with the changes! It always feels like a nightmare, but tinkering around with things can also be fun. Though, yes, headaches. Plenty of headaches, haha. Actually, you just reminded me I’ve spent about the past year toying with the idea of adding a store-like page for all the books I’ve reviewed, an easy place for readers to quickly find purchase links, so I’m interested to see how your store turns out!

      1. Thanks! I love supporting writers and authors; it’s a fun way of finding new stories. I can’t wait to see how your tinkering turns out. It’s hard to let go of how things were for so long, but change can be a fun learning experience.
